A workshop was held to talk through the opportunities of exposing the sport to the general community, but particularly through the vehicle of the Aussie Bocce form of play. It is intended as a simple entry point into the sport.

The general view was that the sport should target the younger audience, particularly through schools. Second generation players should also be encouraged to intermix with these new players. Other opportunities would be through corporate events, at cooperative clubs, where Aussie Bocce participation could be associated with dinner or refreshments. A person delegated to administer these events would be an advantage.  Awareness was another factor. At Clubs, welcoming signs with note of the contact people were opportunities to spread the message of this simple, but fun form of the sport. School holiday programs were another avenue of introducing school children to the sport.  Benefits for the clubs would flow on to expanded patronage, new membership and increased profitability.

The Workshop was conducted at the Casa D’Abruzzo Club, Epping in August 2011 with the Executive and delegates from Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania and Latrobe Valley.
